About CMQ+
CMQ+ (formerly Allies Grad) was founded in 2013 to serve the LGBTQIA+ graduate students at Carnegie Mellon University, but staff and/or allies are always welcome at our events. The + denotes allies, non-identifying, HIV+ (who have traditionally been not included) and other denominations – it is open to interpretation and is a firm nod to our inclusivity, while keeping the focus on the Qs at CMU.
We aim to:
We aim to:
- Provide a sense of community to LGBTQIA+ graduate students.
- Provide professional networking and leadership development opportunities for LGBTQIA+ graduate students.
- Raise awareness about LGBTQIA+ issues on campus, and advocate for the larger queer community and other marginalized groups.
